Earlier this week it was reported that Disney CEO Bog Iger has resigned from Apple’s board of directors. This move is not particularly surprising as both Disney and Apple are set to release their streaming platforms in November of this year. In fact, Iger’s recognition came on the exact day in which Apple released new details about Apple TV+ at their big event in California.
Iger released a positive statement about his departure noting “Apple is one of the world’s most admired companies, known for the quality and integrity of its products and its people, and I am forever grateful to have served as a member of the company’s board.” Apple responded with a similarly upbeat comment praising Bob’s success and ambition. We anticipate both Apple and Disney to put serious pressure on streaming industry leader Netflix in the coming years.
