Prime Day just set the retail industry ablaze yet again. This years “holiday” saw more than 175 million items sold generating over $2 billion in sales. The day sparked a jump in all retail sales as competitors like Target and Walmart launched incentives and deals of their own.
Amazon’s Prime service has continued to pay off in dividends. Prime members spend an average of $1,400 annually compared to $600 for non-Prime members according to recent reports. Amazon continues to set the standard for customer retention with their Prime service by offering an enticing package of deals and benefits. Other companies are following suit with loyalty programs of their own in the quest to keep customers coming back.
